It’s time to start with my Urban Garden again. I start in the end of April. Thats when my window is warm and sunny. And I won’t have to wait too long before getting the balcony sporting again.
I soak the seeds, giving them a kick start. I leave them over night. They double in size and get sprouting straight away.
Be creative, and grow in what you’ve got; empty loo-rolls, egg boxes , old disposal plastic cups. Or disposal plastic trays (the ones that fresh meat or strawberries are packed in)

1 month, and they’re ready to move out
Keeping the plants warm at night, tucking them in with a thin fiber cloth.Till the average night temperature reach 15°C
This year I’m growing;
Runner beans, Haricots verts, White french beans, Broccoli, Cavolo Nero, 2 kinds of courgettes, Hokkaido pumpkin, Pak choy, Chilies, 2 kinds of Tomatoes, Mange tout, cornichons, scallions, radishes and micro lettuce leafs (Mitzuna, Water cress,and mixed Asian leafs).
Most of my herbs comes from seeds, such as Basil, Garlic chives, coriander and dill. But I do get rosemary , sage and thyme plants from the plant school. Mint, chives and tarragon comes back every year.
My balcony is quite far up, so to get any insects to help me with pollenating I need something to get their attention. Colorful flowers!
Red and yellow Sunflowers, sweet peas, cress and marigolds.
